Why GreenEdge Premium Denim?
As a store owner, you need to be sensitive to price as well as style. I hear exclamations of both shock and adoration when moms are faced with a table full of high-end jeans for their kids -- shock that they are actually $120 (which is half the price of their own jeans), and adoration that they are actually $120.
Most consumers are familiar enough with premium denim to understand the high price associated with high-end quality jeans. We do, however, get a customer once in a while who (and I can hardly blame them) seem completely offended by the cost. Lets face it...when you can get a pair of jeans at Target for $15.99...."Who would spend this much on jeans?" they ask. "And what in the world makes them so expensive?"
As in most fashion-related questions, the answer is fit -- and in our case, it's fit and fabric, and manufacturing process, specifically. Premium jeans are almost always created exclusively from the most elite of denim material and will contain at least 2% stretch fibers. The stretch fibers are particularly usefule in the thighs, hips, and seats of the jeans, allowing for the perfect amount of give where kids (and adults) typically need it most, but preventing unwanted bagginess overall.
It wouldn't be fair to completely ignore the fact that the jean is manufactured with the most environmentally conscious process available, and is also 100% USA made!!! This makes it more than your typical premium denim brand seen on celebrities.
If you're willing to pay more for an adult jean because Jessica Simpson, Lindsay Lohan, Uma Thurman, and Jennifer Aniston publicly profess premium denim brands on a regular basis and prance around exhibiting just how cute the jeans are.....why wouldn't you pay half the price for a similar premium fit for your kids? Beyond fit, the answer is:
***Durability (organic can last 3x traditional)***
***Softness (the fibers feel smooth and comfortable against your skin)***
***Style (you children will be noticably more hip)***
***Good for the environment (better for your children & better for mother earth)***
The final reason mom's are willing to pay more for their kids' premium denim? In today's society, jeans can be worn anywhere. Going out for dinner with your kids? Skinny jeans with a tunic and they're good to go. Grocery store shopping with the kids? Throw on the comfiest pair of broken in jeans. Quick lunch with a colleague? Jeans and a sharp top and they look confident and put-together.
Consumers are viewing a good pair of jeans as an investment on par with the classic little black dress or a good suit.
Lets not lose sight of this....when you divide the total cost of the jeans by the number of days in a month your kids are likely to wear them, it's actually less expensive than the other clothes that sit in their closets.
